the Hong Kong Colour Archive: Ink Swatch Cards

£20.00

We once again cooperated with Aoto Printing to create Hong Kong's original local ink colour card - the Hong Kong Colour Archive. Pull open the Begonia window grilles. Swatch your inks and watch the flowers bloom.

This product comes in a box (L: 10cm x W: 5.9cm x H: 2.4cm), and each box contains 40 ink colour swatch cards (L: 9cm x W: 5.5cm). The product is completely white when not yet in use. Paint it with your favourite ink to create your colour archive.

Printed with a special water-resistant layer, the water-resistant layer will be left blank when brushed with water-based ink, and showing the flowers on the card. The flowers are based on unique plants in Hong Kong such as Bauhinia, Grantham's camellia, and Long-leaved Euonymus.

Printed on British-made paper, which can withstand a small amount of water and anti-feathering. It can also show the sheen and chromo of inks.

The whole box is made of translucent paper. With the begonia window grille pattern, you can see your swatches as if you are peeking through a vintage window.

*The use of water-based pigments can best show the effect of the water-resistant layer, and other pigments such as acrylic paints may not be able to show the same effect.

**Translucent paper is prone to curl and becomes opaque when exposed to water. Please be careful when using it and store it in a dry and cool environment.
